As we stand on the edge or a new age dawning, so many things are crumbling and old ways dying. The way of the lone wolf is coming to an end and universally we are seeing ourselves connected, as one.

The sun radiates truth vibrations and sheds beautiful golden light onto the world ... dawning a new golden age.

We are the ones we have been waiting for. ♥


This new piece was started at Sunset Labs/Room "On the Cusp" back in February and has been patiently waiting to be finished. Very happy to finish it and share. Thank you for taking time to look at my work

2011 Earthereal Designs Collection

I have been working away at getting my 2011 EARTHEREAL DESIGNS showcase ready for the upcoming festival season. So far the pendants are finished and I have a few more new things on the way such as earrings, brooches, headpieces, mini top hats and cuffs all made with birch!


All the pieces are collected from the forest floors during treks around BC, some have been stained with organic dye to enhance deep tones in the wood texture. Others have been paired with other floor finds such a mini pine cones, leaves and other things. Each pendant has been dried and coated to ensure durability. They should still be handled with care for longevity.


I am very excited to share it all in person at a few 2011 summer festivals:

The birch tree has always reminded me of childhood, freedom and adaptability...

Growth * Renewal * Stability * Initiation * Adaptability

Listen closely and you will detect whispers of transformation and growth in the midst of the birch groves within your soul.

The birch is highly adaptive and able to sustain harsh conditions with casual indifference. Proof of this adaptability is seen in its easy and eager ability to repopulate areas damaged by forest fires or clearings. Bright and beautiful, the birch is a pioneer, courageously taking root and starting anew to revive the landscape where no other would before.

This is a powerful metaphor for our lives. The birch asks us to philosophically go where no other will go (voluntarily or otherwise). The birch asks us to take root in new soils and light our lives with the majesty of our very presence. The birch sings to us: "Shine, take hold, express your creative expanse, light the way so that others may follow."

Paradoxically, while the birch is a brilliant symbol of renewal, it is also symbolic of stability and structure. The druids also held the birch as the keepers of long-honored traditions.

Associated with the sun, the birch is a solar emblem, and facilitates passion, energy, as well as growth. This solar association is paralleled when we learn the druids carried birch bark with them as kindling. Birch serves as a perfect igniter as it will start to burn even when damp. This makes it a prized fire starter over most other wood types.

Here again, this makes for a perfect analogy. The birch asks us to serve our fellow man with a fire in our hearts. In this respect, the birch reminds us that even if our spirits are dampened by the set backs in life, we can always catch fire from the spark of passions that drive us to divinity.

In Bloom

This month I am pushing to finish a few new pieces in time for the Art in Bloom Festival at the Woodland Gardens (http://woodlandgardens.ca/index.html)


Its my first year and I will be going with Silas, my friend Jenny (http://www.jennifersartwork.ca/Site/Home.html) and her family. 
April Laurie (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fdancingyarnscarves.etsy.com%2F&h=a5d55) may also be vending with us as the third tent in the now forming creative pod. I am really excited to see what its like and share my paintings, prints, new Earthereal Designs and among other new creations. 


I have been working on expanding the Earthereal Design series from the 2008 items I created which were mostly pendants (http://www.concept2creation.ca/imagegallery/Earthereal%20Designs%20(sold)/index.html), adding more elements... there will be more pendants along with new things like brooches, headpieces, earring sets and more. Its been super exciting exploring this jewelry line more as I now have the time to focus on it - I will post pictures in May when the full line is all ready.


Currently I have four new smaller scale paintings on the go. Below is one of a few new smaller in progress... I am finding the more I open myself up to letting the piece happen and surprise me, the more the work exceeds anything that I could have planned or predicted.


I have a few other new things happening, and will reveal them in time. For now I am nurturing them here in my studio and learning so much.


The more I open myself up ... the more I discover new aspects of myself. In exploring emerging and current passions I always have many projects on the go taking me in multiple directions. Living creatively to me means that its never too late to try something new - to inspire and be inspired ♥
